Take a container of up to one liter of water capacity, add five drops of an essential oil and five drops of regular washing up liquid. Citrus oils work best but we recommend that you choose among some of the following oils for optimum results: tea tree, peppermint, lavender, cinnamon or citronella. Mix well and place the solution in a vaporizer. Once you have the liquid in the sprayer, spray all areas of the home where you have seen spiders. Apply the natural repellent to the corners of the walls and baseboards. Apply the solution frequently and every week.

It is also very effective to use citrus as a repellent as many insects, including spiders, hate this smell. You can buy unsweetened citrus juices or make them on your own directly and mix with water. Then put the solution in a vaporizer and apply it to the critical areas. Test it first by spraying it on a not very visible area of the wall in case it damages the paint. This mixture can also be used to clean the furniture and entire interior; spray it through the doors, corners and baseboards, as well as on plants that you have at home to ward off spiders.

Another option is to prepare a cinnamon spider repellent because these insects especially dislike this smell. Find the cinnamon with the most powerful aroma and apply it on all the surfaces to be treated. Another interesting possibility is to make an effective spicy repellent. Take a liter of water, half cup of vinegar and mix in two tablespoons chili powder, stirring and mixing. You can put it in a spray bottle and spray the solution onto the cobwebs and generally in all areas where the insects run free.

A popular combination to get rid of spiders at home is mixing plants and nuts that act as a repellent from the home. Place chestnuts around your house, doors, garage and other access areas. You can also grow lavender or mint plants under your windows, which have displeasing odors for spiders so you'll prevent them from making their webs.

Another repellent to stop the entry of spiders in your house is the following mixture. Boil 4 liters of water, add chewing tobacco and let this soak until cool. Then, take a sieve and put the solution in a new container. Mix one cup of the tobacco solution with half a cup of washing up liquid and put this combination in a sprayer to spread throughout the garden or surrounding areas of your home. This will keep spiders and other insects from entering your home.
