To make the paste, mix two tablespoons of baking soda with a little water. Add the water slowly so you don't over do it. We need it to be a paste, so too much water would ruin it.

When your bicarbonate paste is ready, you have to apply it to the garment in question. If the odour is in a particular area - for example the armpits because of sweat - you have to concentrate on this area, whereas if the whole garment is affected by the smell you should rub the paste all over. If the smell is very strong or unpleasant you can also dissolve a cup of bicarbonate of soda in a large container full of water and let the clothes soak overnight. After this time, you should wash it like you normally do, either in the washing machine or by hand.
