Lipstick stains on clothing can be very difficult to remove, especially when the lipstick has left a clear mark or if it was a long-lasting lipstick. There are several methods you can use to get rid of them and leave your garments looking like new. One of the first things you should try is to apply a little liquid soap mixed with water.

First of all, if the lipstick stain is very recent we recommend that you dab it with some absorbent paper in order to fade the colour. Then lightly dampen the stain with a little bit of water, adding a little drop of liquid soap, which will provide some much-needed anti-greasing action to help remove the lipstick completely. Leave the soap to work its magic for 10 minutes and then rinse with water. Then, wash the garment as you would normally.

If the above method doesn't work, you can also use some liquid glycerine to try to remove the lipstick stains from the item of clothing. It is a viscous and dense liquid that can be purchased at any pharmacy and usually works very effectively. Just mix three parts water with one part glycerine and apply some of this solution to the lipstick stain, rubbing gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Once you see that the stain is fading, you can wash the item of clothing as you normally would.

There is another fairly popular home-made trick that is effective when looking for solutions to remove stubborn stains from fabrics. It consists of using a paste made from aspirin and water. To do this, simply crush three aspirins and mix the powder with a few drops of water. Then, apply the resulting paste to the lipstick stain with a soft brush or sponge and let it stand for 30 minutes. After this time, wash the garment as usual and check to see if the lipstick has disappeared completely.

The process is very simple: you only need to dampen a cotton pad with a few drops of alcohol and gently rub the stain so it begins to fade. Finish by putting the garment in the washing machine and proceed to wash it according to the instructions specified on the label. This will ensure that the clothing will not be damaged and will come out in perfect condition.

Lipstick stains are not just commonly found on items of clothing; they can also be a nuisance on other items such as bedding or, worse still, on upholstery fabric. In this case, we suggest you put the following solution into practice: mix equal amounts of ammonia and water in a spray bottle. Spray this on the stained fabric, leave for two minutes and, with a soft and clean towel, dry the stain very gently. Repeat again if necessary.
